Early Years

Steps towards outcomes:

  • Following instructions – consider any specifics around sensory impairment
  • Communication, language and literacy (giving attention to others, listening to others, responding and asking questions, mark making, early reading)
  • Numeracy – counting, comparing, addition, subtraction etc
  • Adapting to new environments because transitions have been carefully planned and personalised when needed
  • Playing and socialising with other children, taking turns
  • Real world play (builder / nurse / shopkeeper / café worker etc)
  • Confident to try new activities and explain why they like some more than others
