Listen in to the West Sussex Youth Cabinet Podcasts

From the beginning of 2021, the West Sussex Youth Cabinet has put together a number of podcasts, on a range of different topics. Including but not limited to:

  • Our “Racial Equality” podcasts that feature a range of voices talking about the ways racism can affect so many; from micro-aggressions to increases in hate crime – this is the podcast to go to if you’d like to get a glimpse into what life is like as a person of colour.
  • “Political Engagement” debates that cover a wide range of interesting topics such as euthanasia, statues of slaveowners and Brexit.
  • Additional podcasts on things such as how COVID-19 has affected young people and stay tuned for more to come!

You can listen to any of these podcasts either in Yourspace, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and many other streaming services.

The West Sussex Youth Cabinet is a group of democratically elected young people, by young people who represent the views of the youth in the county on both a local and national scale. As such, the young people of the United Kingdom voted in the largest youth consultation in the country, Make Your Mark, with over 50,000 responses. This shows a desire from young people to be heard, and actions to be taken from their voice.

In response to this, the West Sussex Youth Cabinet partakes in multiple branches of work, these include; Webinars (covering all aspects from Mental Health to Environmental issues), podcasts (as mentioned above) and social justice campaigns, on topics from Homelessness to Tackling Knife Crime.

So why not listen in today and hear what the youth of West Sussex have to say about current issues, be sure to also follow us on social media, as podcasts are only one strand of our work!
