The development of ‘Tools for schools’

Welcome to our first blog post. We are very excited about developing our brand new website, which we are currently calling ‘Tools for schools’. Our aim to provide schools and education settings with easier access to resources and information to enable the continued development of inclusive provision for children and young people.

This website is being co-developed with schools, education settings, parent carers and other stakeholders through a series of task and finish groups. During the academic year 2020/2021 we will be testing and continuing to building this resource with wider users.

The idea of our ‘Tools for schools’ has come from our schools. A key requirement is to have quicker access to reliable and useful information to support children and young people with additional needs. To support this ‘Tools for schools’ contains a ‘Pin Board’ feature which enables users to save and return back to information they have found particularly relevant.

For ease of use, ‘Tools for schools’ is organised into 4 main area – check them out and tell us what you think.

In particular it would be great to have your feedback on:

  • How easy is it to find the information you are looking for?
  • What additional information do you need?
  • Other suggestions?

Let us know by emailing [email protected].

Tools for Schools is being developed in partnership with Future Gov, the West Sussex Local Offer provider as this enables its content to be accessed by the general public as families may also find some of the information on the website useful. Here a quick ‘behind the scenes’ photo of some of us in action.
